What is included in my consumption?
FOR DENMARK AND SWEDEN
In Basecamp you pay a fix amount each month for your utilities (heat, electricity, water). This is a pre-paid amount that will be balanced once we receive the detailed consumptions of your room, from the utilities company. That happens every year in April, for the year before.
FOR POLAND AND GERMANY
Rent is inclusive of all utilities (heat, electricity, water, WiFi) so there is no surprise bills. Basecamp encourages its residents to consume water and electricity reasonably.
What is included in the room rate?
Almost everything. Check the amenities list under each Basecamp.
Laundry is available but not included in the monthly rent.
Basecamp rooms are furnished with some basic furniture:
- Bed (size)
- Desktop
- Chair
- Large closet for your clothes
- Shelves
The room rate is all inclusive for all Polish properties, it includes the rent and costs of all utilities (water, electricity and heating).
What is not included?
Utilities vary from Basecamp to Basecamp. If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer your questions.
Is there a deposit fee? Do I get this back upon moving out?
When finalising your reservation, we require a deposit.
- In Denmark, 3 months in addition to full payment for the first month.
- In Germany, 2 months in addition to full payment for the first month.
- In Sweden, 2 months in addition to full payment for the first month.
- In Poland, 1 month in addition to full payment for the first month.
Your deposit will be held until the end of your tenancy. If the room is delivered in the same condition you received it, we will refund the full deposit.
The deposit will be refunded, if applicable, within 6 weeks from the official tenancy end, up to 30 days for Polish properties.
How soon after the leasing process will I get information about the check in?
Once you have signed up with us, made the payment and signed the contract, your chosen basecamp will send you, around one month before arrival, all the information.
Can I choose my room in the building?
Unfortunately, not. You will immediately be assigned a room from your chosen room category. This will be visible in your account in our reservation system.
Is it possible to visit the room and have a tour of the premises before signing the contract?
Kindly reach out to the administration to schedule an appointment and confirm feasibility.

What is the cancellation policy?
Denmark
The termination period for all Danish properties is the current month plus 3 months, and termination can only be initiated after the contract start date. Please submit your termination request online through your Basecamp profile under the “Termination” section.
Please note that you will need to move out 14 days before the end of your tenancy. This period is paid for by you and will be used to prepare the room for the next tenant. Rental payment is required until the end of tenancy and is not considered to be deducted from the deposit.
Sweden
It is possible to terminate the contract observing the 3-month notice, however, this is not a cancellation.
The termination period for all Danish properties is 3 months. The termination period will also be stipulated in your tenancy agreement.
Please note that you will need to move out 14 days before the end of your tenancy. This period is paid for by you and will be used to prepare the room for the next tenant. Rental payment is required until the end of tenancy and is not considered to be deducted from the deposit.
Germany
From the day you do a booking with us, you have 14 days to change your mind.
After 14 days, cancellation is not possible. Please notice that in Germany, you are required to leave your room on the last day of your stay at Basecamp, which you can find stated on your tenancy agreement. Please get in touch with us to get specific information.
Poland
The cancellation policy allows tenants to receive a refund at least 3 months before the start of the Booking Date. The administrative fee is not refundable under any circumstances. In any other cases the tenancy agreement is valid for the duration of the agreed period and earlier termination is not possible, except in extraordinary situations that require individual decision of Basecamp and Basecamp’s consent to cancel the tenancy agreement. In the event of termination of the tenancy agreement due to the breach of the tenancy agreement by the tenant, the tenant shall pay a penalty in the amount of up to 2- months’ rent to Basecamp.
Who can live at Basecamp?
Any full-time or part-time student or young professional who is 18 or older can make a reservation and live at Basecamp.

How can I pay?
Denmark
Basecamp accepts any kind of payment through its online platform. Basecamp prefers direct debit payments but also accepts credit cards/debit cards and bank transfers. A transfer fee for bank transfers and various types of credit card payments might occur.
Sweden
Basecamp accepts any kind of payment through its online platform. Basecamp prefers direct debit payments but also accepts credit cards/debit cards and bank transfers. A transfer fee for bank transfers and various types of credit card payments might occur.
Germany
Basecamp accepts any customary payment method through its online platform. Basecamp prefers direct debit payments and accepts credit cards/debit cards and bank transfers. Certain fees and similar charges may be imposed for bank transfers (in particular, from non-EU countries) and various types of credit card payments. Such fees are the responsibility of the tenant and will be recharged to the tenant to the extent they reduce the payment received by Basecamp.
Poland
Basecamp accepts any kind of payment through its online platform. Basecamp prefers direct debit payments but also accepts credit cards/debit cards and bank transfers. There might occur a transfer fee for bank transfers and various types of credit card payments taken.
What documents do I need?
- A copy of your passport (or local ID card for EU nationals) and
- A university acceptance letter or copy of the student card if you are already studying.
