Hi, my name is Pedro and this is a day in my life! I moved into BaseCamp Aarhus in January this year to start my Master’s programme and it’s been quite the ride!
I first moved in alone, but my girlfriend, Benedita, joined me shortly after to work here in Denmark, so there are definitely no more boring days for me soon.

What you need to know

FAQs

What is the contract length?
Basecamp contracts are open, unlimited contracts that run for the duration of your education or unless terminated by either party (a 3-months notice period must be observed). To enhance the social community of Basecamp, full-year students are given priority.
What documents do I need?
1. A copy of your passport (or local ID card for EU nationals) and
2. A university acceptance letter or copy of the student card if you are already studying.
When can I move in to Basecamp?
We are ready to welcome you on the first day of tenancy during our office hours. Additional information and keys will be handed out by the reception.
What do I have to bring?
You need to supply your bedding and towels, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Our team can help you look for the best deals and offer advice on where to find everything you might need.
What about noise?
All Basecampers are requested to be respectful of other Basecampers. Noise levels should be kept to a minimum during the hours posted at the property.
What is the process for moving out?
Please note that the termination period is 3 months, and you will therefore be held responsible for full payment of rent and utilities until then. The termination notice must come from the tenant in a written form (email) and the termination period (3 full months) will be considered starting from the following month. The deposit will be returned after your tenancy has ended and the rental payments and utility bills or any damages for which you are responsible have been fully paid. The room must be vacated 14 days prior to the end of the lease.

Copenhagen Zoo

Copenhagen Zoo is without a doubt one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, and for good reason. The 4,000 inhabitants of the enclosures are just a short drive or bus journey away from our Basecamp.

SMK – National Gallery Of Denmark

SMK is the largest art museum in Denmark, and within its walls are some impressive displays from local and global artists alike. Go take a look to explore paintings, sculptures and graphic art comprising a 26,000 -strong collection.

Bakken

A day out at the world’s oldest amusement park should be on everyone’s list when in Copenhagen. Located within Par Force Hunting Landscape of Jægersborg Deer Park, explore the preserved history and an 82 year old wooden roller coaster.

Tivoli Gardens

Little known fact – Tivoli amusement park was what inspired Walt Disney World. A must-see whilst in Copenhagen, and just about a 20 minute walk from Basecamp Copenhagen City.

Amalienborg Palace

Home to the Danish royal family, these four identical classical palace facades were initially intended for noble families, but was bought by the royal family when Christiansborg palace burned down in 1794.
